# Connect news sources to inConcept

Follow the trade journals, news sections and organisations that matter to your brand. inConcept reads them every hour and sets out what fits as a suggestion.

## The fastest way

1. In inConcept, go to Settings, Integrations, and choose News feeds. https://inconcept.ai/app/admin/integrations?panel=news
2. Click News feed and search the catalogue by name. Not there? Choose Add your own, paste the site's address and click Check.
3. Click Follow. inConcept reads the source straight away, and what fits then shows under Suggestions.

## What a news source does

A news source is a site inConcept follows for you: a trade journal, a newspaper's news section, a regulator, a trade association, a municipality or a competitor. inConcept reads the source every hour, judges every new item against your organisation's profile, and sets out what fits under Suggestions, with a line on why.

You manage the sources in inConcept under Settings, Integrations, News feeds. The same list sits in the settings on Suggestions, so you can see where a suggestion came from.

## Three ways to add a source

- **From the recommendations.** At the top of the list inConcept puts forward one source at a time, chosen for your sector and region, with the reason beside it. Choose Follow, or Not for us to see the next one.
- **From the catalogue.** Click News feed and search by name, such as a trade journal, a newspaper or a municipality. inConcept shares the catalogue across all organisations, with the sources popular with others first.
- **Add your own.** If the source is not in the catalogue, choose Add your own and give its address. The site's address is enough: inConcept finds the feed for it. If it finds more than one, such as a feed per section, you choose which to follow.

## Narrowing a broad source

A newspaper or a big trade journal publishes far more than what concerns you. Open the source and choose Filter:

- **By category.** Follow only the sections that matter, if the source sorts its items.
- **By keyword.** Only with, or never with, a word you give.

inConcept judges a fixed number of items per day. If your sources together deliver more, the rest waits until the next day, and inConcept warns you about it in the list. A filter on the broadest source is then the quickest fix.

## If it does not work

- **inConcept finds no feed on the site.** Not every site has one. Look on the site for RSS or an icon with waves, and paste that address. If there is no feed, inConcept cannot follow the site.
- **A source never yields a suggestion.** Then what it publishes does not fit your profile, or the filter is too strict. Open the source: under The latest items you see what inConcept read.
- **A source is no longer read.** After a week without success inConcept says so beside the source. Choose Look again: often the feed has moved and inConcept finds the new address itself.
